I've got the electric folding mirrors fitted to my A3 (2009 model). You can fold them using the dial on the door, but I was also expecting them to fold when you held down the lock button on the key fob.

Is this something that needs to be setup, or is it not possible to do this on an A3? Strange if you can't, as this works on Seats.

    Thanks.

You can't fold the mirrors with the remote.
even from the switch they won't work above 15mph.

if you went for the automatic folding option they will fold when you lock the car, if not then its manual operation only (when you remember!!)
I really think that Audi should make this clearer as they say 'electric folding' as standard but to get them fully automatic its another option and cost. I have the B8 A4 and paid for the extra automatic but they still have to be set up in the MMI to fold on the key fob operation.

The A3 spec states that is has the following as standard:

"Electrically operated and heated door mirrors".

Which just refers to the adjustment of the mirror itself, not its housing.

I also added, as an option, "Exterior door mirrors - electrically folding".

They fold using the button in the car, but don't fold with the key and there appears to be no option in the drivers information system menu to set this up.

There's no option on an A3 for "automatic folding" mirrors.

From what kite is saying, it's not possible to do it on a A3. Shame that.
