Just looking at buying a Touran. Does anybody the best way to carry mountain bikes and road bikes inside a touran? I intend in taking out the middle row of seats and folding the back seats flat to gain maximum space. Wanting to store than as compact as possible but without taking too many wheels off etc so that I can store camping gear too. Any ideas?

VW do a really expensive bike rail that plugs into the middle seat sockets but, as you'll find, bikes take up a huge amount of a Touran boot no matter what you do. Taking the front wheels off, turning the handlebars by 90 degrees and storing vertically is the best way I could suggest.

I went to Halfords and bought two roof bars and five bike racks, total outlay was around £100 and the boot is then empty.
