    Looking at some of the prices out there regaridng the mk5 R32 I really fancy one, dealers are doing 2008 DSG ones for £18k.....

    What you guys reckon ?

    v.nice cars and that sound of the v6 is a peach. your running costs for fuel are going to be a lot more especially when your giving it some beans. but the price of fuel is coming down and hey you only have so many summers in you so why not.....

    Agreed. But for the love of God get a 3 door... The 5 door Golf is just awful.

    Oh, and don't forget to factor in the car tax ~£400 per year...

    i thought the £400 road tax has been sidelined(for now) with the country being in a bit of a pickle at present?? just a couple of weeks worth of fuel anyway maybe less if your pushing on lol

    Hmm, I thought the plans to introduce the higher level taxes had been suspended only for cars registered before 2006...

    Decidied against it, i need a 5 door car and dont really like the look of them in 5 door.

    Maybe B5 RS4 ?

    The Passat R36 is meant to be a hoot- not sure on prices though as it is relatively new.
