Audi A3 1.6 1997 - I have changed the throttle body with a new one, but now the engine is over reving now and then while driving. When I first start the car the engine is idling ok.

Also the airbag light is on, I have put a diagnostic machine on it but it doesn't seem to access the airbag functions.

And, how do you reset the service light?

    Can anyone help?

    hi,

you should have done a throttle body adaption after refitting it using VAG-com or simular software, this can also be used to reset your service light.

failing that the car will settle down after a few hundred miles as ecu learns the new values from throttle body!

you can clear service reminder using this method:
1=left button on dash (clock adjuster)
2=right button on dash (trip counter)

    OK
    Switch off ignition
Press button 2 and switch on ignition keeping button pressed, display should show SERVICE OIL
PULL button 1 until 'service---' is displayed

Press button 2 again display will show SERVICE INSP
    PULL button 1 until cleared

    hope this helps
