    hi all

i've got a '99 V bora which has started to blister on the c pillar, where the rear screen meets the pillar. basically the blistering runs nearly the full length of the screen - top to bottom. the paint's not broken thru yet but it won't be long i think...

is the a common problem? as far as i can tell, the panel is original (and not replaced as a result of a bump...)

it looks like a screen out job for a proper repair - anyone experienced this or had a similar repair done?

    thanks

Had this on my A3 (which was galvonised as far as I know so should never occur...) but have seen this on loads of VWs that age.

I personally think it either arises from a poor glass repair in the past or at manufacture where there is an imperfection in the painting process.

Probably one of those things you have to put down to it being an 'older' car - nearly 10 years which aint too bad! Should imagine the repair would be a bit of a nightmare, certainly to do well.

    Good luck.

I had this on my bora,

well I had two blisters where the rear window meets the body shell. mine actually started to rust.

Luckily i managed to get it sorted via vw warranty.

Theoretically if its a paint or body defect the warranty is 7-10 years i think?
