    i have had exactly the same problem
    had the master done then the bleed housing and all new o rings, then finally it was the slave...

    How much did it cost to get the slave done?
    2003 Passat 1.9 SE Sport TDI 130

    It will eventually fail completely but I have known them do this for at least a year before failing. Unfortunately, with yours being a six speed, it may not be the master cylinder, it is possibly the concentric slave cylinder/ release bearing but I suggest doing the master cylinder first to see if that cures it.

    i think it was ?120 labour, with the option to put a new clutch in at the same time..
    the slave was about 40 from vw

    As I said in my previous post about this, I don’t know how your mechanic survives on the labour he charges, VW quote an unrealistic 510 time units on that job and it takes longer, it takes me a full day.

    I Dunno Why Either?
    I Got It Done At A.f.d. Mapperly Top. But He Has Done A Few Clutchs Before On The 6 Speed Box's, So He Knew What He Was Taking On, Plus He Is A Friend Of The Family, I Think He Would Usually Charge 150-175
    He Did It On A Saturday Too, Which Is A Half Day?

    hi there new to the form and need some help!!!

    drive a golf gti turbo on an 02 plate,on my way to work this morning was about to pull away and ma car would not go into gear.not sure if its the clutch or the gearbox.when the cars not started selecting a gear is no problem but the clutch feels fine too.

    are you getting the same problems as everyone else
    soft pedal or pedal going to the floor?

    That is a clutch problem but it is odd that the clutch feels fine, it sounds as though the release bearing arm has failed but I normally only see that on 5 speed boxes with heavy duty clutches.
