I'm not sure if there is a fix for my particular problem but here goes anyway!

My Golf has some scratches on the outside of the passenger window which I'd really love to see the back of. There is a patch about 6cm across which seems to have been scuffed by something metal presumeably. The scratches aren't very deep and each mark is about 2mm wide and they can just be felt with a fingetip or fingernail.

Is there anything commercailly available which can be used to polish out the scratches and leave the window looking like new. I'd rather get a consensus of opinion before I try any suggested remedies so I don't make it worse...

id also love to know if theres a fix for this, i can give a guess as to what caused it though.....

i was happily cruising down a road, a little too closely to another car's wing mirror it would seem, bang went my wing mirror against my passenger window. the mirror smashed into tiny little biddy pieces and i had to replace it, i now have scratch marks where the mirror impacted on the window.... im guessing the same's happend to yours at some point.

I hadn't thought of that - the marks are exactly where the mirror would have hit the window in the event of an impact!

There has to be a way of getting rid of them though - they're the only blemish on the car (apart from the alloys that the VW dealership b***ered up) and they are really hacking me off.

Someone (not on the forum) mentioned using jeweller's rouge - any jewellers on here who might give me some indication as to what it is and where I could get some from?

Looks good. I have a scratch on the windscreen, not deep but it can annoy. It is in the main area of the screen too so am not sure if it will pass its next MOT.
    One German, Two Italian.

Presuming you have insurance () just look out for the free stone-chip repair guys that hang about in the car parks of most large shopping centres.

As long as you have your cover note/docs on you, they'll do it for free.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
