    Hi,

    Heres the question:

    1) Can i get the gauges if i go to a scrappy?

Went to Street wise today was told by the mechanic that the speedometer is not 100% correct. And that it will cost £400 to get it done by Audi in Milton Keynes?

    2) Do you guys have any solution to this?

    Hey Zeb,

When they say its not 100% correct that will be true, no speedo is 100% correct 100% of the time.
The question is how far out is it? Do you have sat nav? If so go for a drive and take note of the difference at 10mph increments.
IIRC the legal amount it can be out by is 10% and I regularly find that mines is out by that much sometimes and other its pretty near bang on.

To answer the question of getting the cluster from a scrappy yes you can, but you will need the SKC code the cluster you are getting and also the SKC code for the one in your car. The only way to get these, if you don't have yours already, is to connect up a program called VAG Tacho. This is expensive at 290 euros.

Do the check to see how much its out by. Did Streetwise give you a copy of the VCDS scan? Would be good to see what has caused them to say your speed is out whether its a fault code or they've noticed something else.

    Hope that helps

    Hi elpaulio,

Streetwise told me that it is out by 20% so if im doing 80MPH i will be actually doing 60MPH. They said all your gauges are fine and work in good order, but since they have informed me about this, it sort of put me off so thats why i wanted to ask whether i could get a replacement or not. They never gave me the VCDS scan, but noticed that its to do with the faulty fuel sensor unit.

    Hi there,

20% is quite a bit, wonder how they found that out. Guess they must've had a GPS connected up whilst driving. just seems a bizarre thing to "notice"

I would get a GPS and double check what they are saying.

I think there may be a way to re-calibrate the speedo, but I'm not sure if its the same for the A4. Think it was a Mk4 Golf that I have seen that for

Check the GPS and let us know
