My 2003 A6 has a leak in the Trunk/Boot. I've isolated it by pouring water on the rear window. With the Trunk lid up there is no water leak but when the lid is closed water enters the spare tire well. The water is seeping in by small round indentations that look like round sheet metal ponches that did not completely penetrate. It only occurs from the Passenger Side (Left Hand Drive).

These indentations are found after removing the black plastic panel that sits right behind the bottom of the Trunk lip behind the weather strip (the one that has the two "D" rings for a cargo net and the trunk light). There appears to be two small drain holes under this area (as seen from underneath the car) and each has a small gromet with a hole in its center. I've tried to clear these with a small Phillips Head screw driver but only a small amount of water is released.

I've spent 3 hours on this problem and have hit a dead end. Can anyone assist in futher diagnosis or trouble shooting? It will soon be rainy season!

Other than this, the car is in excellent shape.

Thank You!
