Getting a 2003 Audi A4 TDI on Saturday, traded in my reliable but juice bearing A6 2.6se 130k. Anyway the A4 car comes with roof bars in the price and by the looks of it have not left the top of the car since the day they where put on. The Audi rails and seem to need a key to get them off . Where can I go to get a replacement ? I assume theirs some serial number I'll have to make a note of to get the key. Any pointers anyone.

    Thanks.

I have never heard of this? The key i would of thought would be the same key as the doors???

Why would you like to remove these anyway?

Apologies maybe I did not explain myself correctly. The roof bars sit on the roof rails of the car I'd like to remove them at some point. When travelling at higher speeds the wind going over the roof bars and makes additional noise. Plus I just like to see if I can remove them.

I suspect that you have an aftermarket roof bars, many of which are supplied with a key to prevent theft (of rails and "luggage"). Suggest you go back to previous owner and ask for the key.

    Sorry.... i get you now....

One option which you may not like.... angle grinder.... if you dont want them on or need them... get them whipped off and then buy new if you need any in the future..

They dont cost mega cash these day luckily..
