    Hi guys,

Is there a way to dismantle the injectors off a 1.8t?

They at home right now soaking in carb cleaner, but i'd really like to make sure they are clean on the inside.

I can't see any obvious way of dismantling them, are they a totally sealed unit?

    Cheers
    Matt

you cant dismantle them try and your buyin new ones
theres a few places that will clean them for you
    why do they need cleaning
you would be better off adding something to the tank and letting them clean that way
    winns etc

    Hi Bez,

Thaks for the reply, the car is misfiring, hesitating and lumpy at low revs but evens out past 4000rpm.

It idles ok, and runs fine when cold.

I've put redex through it with no improvement, so I have removed the injectors to give them a good clean.

I'm aware that the problem could be coil packs or a vacuum leak, but i wanted to try cleaning the injectors first as a way of potentially avoiding spending more money.

I don't currently have a code reader, so i'm partly guessing what is wrong.

    Hi,

Thanks for the replys i've sorted the problem.

managed to borrow a code reader and injector #3 was sticking.

Had the injectors out and soaked in carb cleaner for 48 hours followed by a full tank of redex and an Essex tune up, and that seemed to loosen it up and now works fine.

    cheers
    matt
