    Hi!

My name is Sergio and I’m new in this forum. I own a 1997 audi A4 1.9 tdi avant and I’m having some problems with the rear window wiper. Can any one tell me how to remove the boot lid trim? I can only see two screws.

Thank in advance for your help.

    Best Regards

    Sérgio

Undo all visible screws, and the trim is held on by clips.....so "gently pull".....aka yank i off!

The clips are metal but held on with plastic so make sure you dont snap the plastic when you pull it off or you will have trouble clipping it back on.

No, I think thats it although in all fairness my boot trim near enough fell off due to the oversized speakers the last owner had (badly) fitted into it!

    LOL

I'll remove the trim today to see if the problem is just a loose water tube or if I have to remove the windscreen motor for disassembly.

    hi sergio,
is it that the screenwash is not spraying? if so, check in the cubby hole on the right hand side of the car (as you look into the boot) where the emergency warning triangle is. there is a join in the pipe that comes undone. in freezing weather last year, mine froze and when i tried to use, it just split. as you look in the cubby hole, look in the top left area. the bottom of this cubby hole was drenched with screenwash when i looked in.
hope this helps. the pipe should just push together again.

    HI!

Thanks for all your helpful comments. I've removed the boot trim and realized the water tube was loose near the windscreen motor. Or so I thought.

I don’t know how it’s supposed to be, but I could not reconnect the water tube again. In the water entrance there was a black plastic part attached and the water tube was loose and the tube did not fit with the referred plastic part. Strange!!!

I got a small tube that fitted in the water inlet and tube and glued all together. At least for now it works. I don’t know for how long…
