    Hi

    Passat (Estate - TDi 1.9 - Year: 2004)

    The plug unit that sits adjacent to the bonnet lock, at the top of the radiator housing HAS MELTED.

    There are two small pins/connectors (about 5mm in length).

    You can still unplug the pins - and plug back in, but the plastic has melted.

    Does anyone know what this plug is called - and if at all possible what it's function is?

    I will be posting other problems that might be related to this - i.e.;

    Intermittent fault which cuts the engine dead.

    Thanks in advance.

    Stephen

    That is the bonnet switch but why has it melted? I have never seen that happen.
