Hello

My 52-reg Bora TDI has started missfiring when cold. Accelerating through about 1500-1600 RPM it's almost like the spark breaking down (if it was a petrol car, obviously. If I trundle through the gears shifting up before that rev range it's generally OK til it warms up, but if I'm a bit too heavy with the throttle it feels like it drops onto 3 cylinders and the warning light (yellow triangle in a circle) comes on. If that happens it doesn't sort itself out unless I switch off the ignition and start again. I can do this while driving.

Once the engine is warm it doesn't do it. I have noticed a 'clicking' or 'arcing' sound for a few seconds when starting from cold. Maybe I should investigate this some more.

Is it worth putting some injector cleaner in, or do I need to get the fault codes read when it's cold?

Thanks

PS I'm also posting this in the Mk4 forum as nobody visits this section!
