Not sure if I am just being stupid here but I have just bought an A3 1.8T Quattro on a Y plate.

Now when I remove the key from the ignition the instrument cluster goes dark but when I open the door and lock it the time/date and mileage is still being displayed on the cluster........is this normal?? Can it be changed so it remains dark??

    Many thanks
