reversing light

the other day my reverse light stopped working, took the bulb out and checked it and the bulb is fine, replaced the fuse a few times and just been trying to find where the reverse switch is on the gearbox? i have a 2003 a3 2.0 fsi. i have lifted up the gear gaitor and found nothing and i think it is only accessible from underneath! any ideas?

Did you test the bulb, bulbs can often look fine even after they have blown, it's not allways the visible element that breaks or melts.

yea checked the circuit and it was fine, i got myself a reverse light switch and replaced it! hard work but it works now.

sorry mate i've got the same problem with my reverse light. how did u fix it? where is the reverse light switch?

i took it into a garage as my missus works in a garage and the switch is inside the gearbox, bout 2 hours and the price of the switch which is like £20 so wernt to bad!!!!
