What car, age, engine you got?

Not sure if thats the same for your car as that was for a Passat.

But if thats the same I would say your camshft position sensor is either faulty or the plug needs a clean.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the reply, this is almost the exact error message that VW South Africa have now supplied my mechanic with. They have it as crankshaft angle sensor, however the mechanics will have to dismantle gearbox and clutch to get to it. Will post after Tuesday or Wednesday what results came of.
