    hi

would a performance alloy recirculating valve from some where like forge actually help performance and throttle responce??

are they better than the plactic bosh ones ??

it would be for a golf mk4 gt tdi 150.

    cheers

Fitting a Forge 07 DV definitely helped both performance & throttle response on my remapped GTI.

What do you base that claim on Andy B ?

Dunno if it would make much difference on a TDI, but it did on my 1.8T GTI.
It holds on to boost better & throttle response is noticably improved.

Its a big difference between 1.8T petrol and the GT TDI. A blow off valve(recirculating) wont do any good on a TDI because off the way these engines work so i would suggest you spend your money elsewere...Bhp per pound= 0. Thanks !

Actually I replaced a 4 month old 710N Vag DV ( Audi TT 225bhp) on the recommendation of Westec a renowned VAG tuning specialist, furthemore its a BLACK Forge 07 which doesn't shine anymore than a stock one, and is pretty much hidden by the engine cover!
It has both helped turbo lag & the revs drop back down quicker. I at no point claimed any increase in BHP.
Sorry to have put your nose out of joint.

i sent a email to forge soon after i posted the thred, this was the reply.

    Hi Ian

    Thanks for your e mail
The Forge valves will not fit on the diesel , they also will not offer any performance gain or benefit in any way .

We do sell a Forge diesel dump valve that is specifically designed for your applications , but again this is only for the customers who wish to have the dump valve sound , it offers nothing else .

    Regards

    Peter

from what i have found i think there only purpose is to look and sound good, performance benifits minimal unless used in conjunction with some serious mods..
