    Default Knocking from left hand side when cold and idel – 18-11-2008,12:52 AM
    Hi
    My passat has today started knocking from the left hand side when cold, it's almost like running on 3 pistons or an exhaust leak, but there is no difrance to the engine power, its only on idle as soon as i rev it slightly it disapears and once the engine is warm its fine. Any ideas. the car has been fully serviced but has done 105K on a 54 plate.

    Update, Looks like its the air con pump, turned the Air con off and it stopped turn it on it it comes back. Will have to get it fixed before next years holiday to France.
