If its the same as the 2 litre in the VW's - which it most probably will be, then I've found them to be very reliable with no really major issues or problems. That FSI engine has a cam belt fitted which IMO should be changed around 60k or 4years, but other than that nothing bad to say.

i have read that the injection system gives problems, but i have no idea at what mileage that would occur.

there not very good
no power poor mpg depending on engine code and build date fsi(in it original format is no longer used but the brand name is)so there is also heavy oil consumption and the camshaft tensioner and chain are normally ery noisey from cold start.Get a 1.9 diesel or a 2006 onwards 2.0 tdi
