Anyone make use of them? Are they a lot of hassle to setup?

I've used them quite extensivly over the last few years but have never set one up and am considering it to allow me to do some private dev work

I've used VMWare quite a bit to set up virtual machines. Really could not be simpler.

    So we're talking about Playstations?

Jokes aside, I wouldn't have a clue. But they sound like a good invention...

There are a number of different setups but what i'm refering to n simple terms you have a host environment server, on the host environment can be a number of guest environments installed to handle different applications i.e a virtual machine could replicate the classic three tier network breakdown of a database server, an applications server and a communications server all on one machine. This is much cheaper than running three individual servers, can replicate a larger setup in its "real" working environment, is more secure and more managable

    Haha!

I use a VM to run 95 within XP so that some ageing piece of crap software I need to use will work properly.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
