strange noise when turning

Hi, can anyone help me? i've got a 03 Golf GTI TDI 150 & everytime i turn a corner left or right, i here a strange noise like a mermer? dont want to take it in to VW if i can help it due to cost£

It could be a wheel bearing, you need to have a mechanic take a look.

i should think it would be your cv joint over anything mate, wheel bearings tend to make a nosie all the time not just when you turn a corner, the noise they make is like a dull trone/wineing sound,

If its a front wheel bearing the noise should get louder when cornering either left or right.
