VWAF VCDS User Map now available here - VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps

This is a list of people on this forum who have Vagcom / VCDS and who are willing to help other forum members. It is intended for posts by non-businesses. It is intended that this list will enable fellow forum members to help each other for FREE..... I say free, but really it would be rude not to provide a few beers for their trouble. Also the idea is to get you to buy Vagcom / VCDS yourself once you have experienced what it can do.

Anyone looking for help here please check that the person you are talking to is not a business otherwise it will cost you more than a case of beer!

Anyone looking for help, please DO NOT post questions in this thread, start your own thread or send a message.

RIGHT THEN FREAKS.... I've added an index per page. I've not listed any one post wonders and I've also identified "trade" members. If any of you find any dead posts and don't get a response from the member listed, send me a message and I will remove them from the index.

    Original post below....

I'm new here and don't know if a thread like this exists so I thought I'd start one anyway.

The idea is that members can locate other members who have VAG-COM and that are willing to help.

Please note, this thread is to be used by those with VAG-COM. Any request for scans or help should be made in the general VAG-COM Information & Help section of the forum

Please DONT post questions on this thread PM User in your location or start a new thread

    For those that don't know about vagcom, it is basically a PC based diagnostic software that provides you, the humble car owner, the ability to mend your own car! To briefly summarise what it can do;

1, Read and clear fault codes.

2, Monitor, display and log various system outputs (very useful for diagnosing intermittant problems)

3, Re-code engine car / parts for example if you swap your seats to those without side airbags where previously had them, the airbag controller will need re-coding.

4, Restore 'basic' settings, for example, the infamous throttle body alignment.

It does much more as well and in my opinion having vagcom to any home mechanic is as important as having a socket set!

Anyway, perhaps this should be a 'sticky' or if there is already a similar thread that should be made a sticky ?

I'll start in a new reply below, if others could follow the same format...

    Based in north Lincolnshire.
Have Hex-can-usb which is the latest lead and software version, which can do everything I think !
Do diagnostics as part of my business (also have snap=on scanner) so charge a small fee.

Just bought USB/CAN version and snazzy new laptop to operate.

Fixed airbag faults, re-progged key/door locking/drive away function & 'beep'.

Well chuffed and I don't 'do' computers!

Happy to help (*try*) if you're local (only if you fix my winter condensation ).
