My 2003 a4 tdi 130 saloon is only blowing warm air on the left hand side of the car.
The car has climate and was working fine until last weekend.
I checked for faults on vag com, and it came up with,
fault code; 01810 - Actuating motor for temperature flap, right (v159) 41.00 blocked or no voltage.
Any suggestions where to start looking for the fault?

This is a common fault on the A4's, I had it on mine but it cleared up after a week. I believe the actuators that control the air flow can be accessed by removing the glovebox (5 8mm bolts, if I remember correctly). They're about a £60 part.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the pointer hagis, I've tested each of the actuators and they all work when different functions on the aircon are operated!!!
Could it be the main aircon control panel mounted in the dash??
A lot of cash to fork out if its not????

The flap for the right hand side temperature control isn't behind the glove box. Try removing the panel under the steering wheel (where the service book should live) the control motor is the opposite side of the centre console from where the other control motors are.

    Thankyou Xenon.

Your correct it was, after removing the three retaining screws on the actuator, I found it was not connected to the flap arms, reconnected and hey presto heat my side. A fiddly job, but worth the hour or so it took to complete. I hate to think how much it would have cost at the dealers???
    Thanks for the info

    regards

    John
