Spare Key Replacement Costs?

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2006 Plate Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 T Fsi from a Volkswagen main dealer.

Upon collecting the car, the dealer informs me that there is only one key, and no spare or security tag your meant to get.

I was wondering, does anyone know the cost of getting the only key I have for the car duplicated at an Audi dealer with the proper remote fob etc?

Also is getting a replacement key made possible without the security tag thing your meant to get?

Your Audi dealer will supply and code a new key for around £150-£200.

I'll need to just pay that cost for the reassurance of having a spare key, in case I lose my only key I have for the car.

It cost me £145, £100 for the key and £45 for them to code it to my car.

In view of the car you purchased been so new and the fact you bought from a franchised dealer surely you have a right to demand a new key from them. Free of charge. I would push for one!

Alright, eventually managed to get dealer to find spare key and tag, so all is well.
