    Hi !

Does any body know what is involved in removing the boot lid light and number plate panel ?

It looks as though it is one unit so should come off in one piece

    Any advice appreciated

    cheers !

There are 2 8mm bolts behind the boot carpet trim. To get to these you need to pull out 4 or 5 plastic blanking plugs with a small screwdriver and then gently pull the carpet down. I have just done this on my coupe, dont know if it the same for other cars.

I am always grateful to any one who takes the trouble to make a reply...so thank you.

Unfortunately the rear of the cabriolet must be different to the coupe.

With the Cabbie the number plate and the light unit are part of the boot lid where as in the coupe they are below i.e. not part of the lid

It looks fairly straight forward - 4 nuts per side for the side lights and then two plastic lugs which push through the panel two hold the number plate and provide additional support in the middle.

My concern is the lock is screwed to the boot lid and has many different wires and linkages...I am wary to take these off with out checking first

    Rgds

Hi I had mine off the other day to replace the lock, I found a link to utube which had a video of the whole process. Do not forget to unscrew the screws hidden in the pull down handles, I think its 2 and yes you will need the tourqx screwdriver. hope this helps
