Passenger (rear) window stuck.

Hi all,
I pressed the button to lower the rear (n/s) passenger window, there was a 'clunk' and the window did not move.
I found that by pressing the window button and using my hand to 'force' down the glass, it would lower. By pressing 'up' the window would raise ok.
So it will lower with help, and raise as it should.

Is it difficult to remove the door panel to see what has come unstuck and possibly fix it ?
Don't fancy a trip to the garage and the costs involved..........unless I really have to.
I don't have a Haynes manual to see how to take off the panel.
Any help much appreciated.

The car is a 51 plate (02.02.02) 1.9 Tdi Passat.

I think the plastic locking pin which holds the window in place is broken.the door trim is not difficult to remove,send me your e-mail address and i will send you the details
