Hello everyone! My first meaningful post. I bought my first car - it's a used one - from a dealership here in Belfast. It's a Volkswagen Polo E-type. . . the basic one.

My question is . . .in between each dial (Revs, and Speed) there is a black rectangle that can display certain information (I've seen in pictures).

Does anyone know how I turn this on?. . . Mine is constantly black while other Polo users can get it to display MPG, Temperature etc.

Because mine is an E-type Polo does it not do anything at all?

    Thanks alot.

You probably have the basic model whixch does not have that sort of display.
some Polos have this info displayed in the LCD display that normally shows the time. If one presses the end of the stalk that controls the wipers (right hand one) it will cycle through different info (outside temp, average MPG, etc. It is a samll rocker switch that will cycle the info up or down depending on on if one presses the top or the bottom of the switch.
However, you may have a very basic Polo that won't even have that feature. Do you not have a VW handbook?

the manual is a basic manual that covers every polo from the E up to the super duper special editions.

I just guessed that if my big centre screen was built there in the first place that it was going to do something.

It's just black all the time so why even bother building it in.

    Thanks for your help.
