I've got a 55 plate A3 s-line with the 6 cd changer/cassette player. I want to fit BOSE speakers to the front, do I need to fit the amp or will the speakers just replace the existing standard ones without any problems?

You CANNOT just fit front BOSE speakers into a normal car, its a 2ohm system versus a 4ohm system.

If you want BOSE then you need to replace all the speakers (including the sub) with BOSE versions, you will also need to change the amplfier for a BOSE version as well adding some new wiring from the amp to the head unit and to the front speakers.

Get a set of high quality component speakers and will sound much better and be cheaper than the Bose ones. The bose sounds ok-ish but not brilliant.
