Hello I am about to replace my seals as it is running a bit crap, but I was wondering if there was a torque setting for the injector bracket bolt..?? and also should I use any sealant with the seals as this is the second time they have caused probs..??

    cheers Keith

make sure that the sealing face on the head is really clean. if you dont then they wont ever seal properly, but make sure no debris falls into the cylinder. try using a vacuum cleaner to suck down there and get any muck out, then have a good look to see if its clean. a piece of thin plastic pipe taped onto the vacuum pipe does the job nicely. a gentle scrape with a screwdriver will remove any carbon down there, while vacuuming. also make sure the injector seat is clean. dont use any sealant, and torque down to 20nm. if the seats in the head are really bad, they can be recut by an engine shop, without removing the head. a special tool is used that sucks out the debris, usually through the glow plug hole. after torquing down, start the engine and check for any leaks around the injector. a squirt of wd40 is good for this. dont go past 20nm though, as ive seen the clamp snap at 30nm!!! if youve changed the seals recently and they are leaking i would say the seats in the head need a good clean.
