Noticed this yesterday morning while waiting in traffic jam. The car seems to have a slight, I'm not sure what I'd call it, but when idling, its as if it (the engine) misses a beat. Nothing major, just this slight blip.

    Anyone with any ideas?

If they use the word 'hinnie' a shoeing of immense proportions will ensue.

My Pst does this aswell. Runs fine all the time, just when stopping at traffic jam. I'm no expert but could it be something to do with alternator and required charge and load ???

Yeah, mine as well. When idling it occasionally drops the revs by a fraction, just for half a second or so. *shrugs*

My Passat used to do this, got a tiny shudder through the car just now and then, until I sent it to a diagnostic place (NOT a dealer) who cleared a few codes that were showing from old faults that had been cleared. This didn't solve it but he then went for a little dig and pulled off the plug leads. Nice and crusty so gave them a good clean, did the same for the top of the plugs, put back on and ran like a dream, both at idle and under acceleration - there was some extra power there too that I'd obviously got used to not having so had forgotten I ever had it!
