I used to happily chuck away my cash to mechanics until I found t'internet (particularly www.clubb5.com) now I just DIY.

And agreed, we're splitting hairs on the wheels but...

Either way, if it's not the one, there are plenty more around.

when my mechanic charged me £150 for a sensor replacement which didnt fix the fault thats when i decided enough was enough and embarked upon my journey of enlightenment...... im still looking for the map LOL

Hi Possu.
I myself are looking for a Passat, and for what its worth, i would walk away from that one!
I think that you maybe trying to convince yourself that its worth buying. But you will know that there were things wrong with it, and wished that you hadn't brought it!
I phone up now and ask them not to start the engine prior to my arrival. i check the bonnet and the engine to make sure that its stone cold.
If cars are parked up against a wall or in between cars, move the car out of the space so you can look at it from all angles and from a good distance away.
Just take your time and im sure that you will find the one you are looking for,with full service history etc. I am looking for one with service history but also bills, invoices and receipts, as well as old MOT's to make sure the millage is right!

personally i am trying to buy one with as many extras on it as possible. With regards to the aircon, i know that when the summer roles around, you wished you had aircon on board!
