How long would you want to be with someone before you moved in together/bought a house/got married?

Am I to assume that this being a post written by the fairer sex that things aren't moving on quite as quickly as you'd like?

Anyway... Time is the least important factor in this matter. Trust in your partner, along with (probably) age and previous relationship experience are a lot more important. Having said that, you really get to know someone when you live with that person under one roof. So if you've been together for a few months or so and you feel ready to move in together, than thats probably a good idea. You haven't got much to loose by taking that step anyway.

As for marrying and buying a house, my personal opinion is quite simple: If you haven't built up enough trust in your partner in order to take those steps and you need to rely on other peoples opinion, it usually means you're not ready...

As I said, time is not important. Your own feeling of whether you're ready is. And in some relationships the right time for marriage/house buying comes sooner than for others. If you rush those decisions and start working against the clock you're setting yourself up for guaranteed disaster.

I think you know when the time feels right....

I purchased a house with my other half after only been together 8 months.... 4 years later still going strong...

I know for some people it does take a goo few years at least...

Its each to their own i guess....

Is it a case of you wanting him to move in with you.... You move in with him.... or you both buy / rent somewhere together??

    Rick
