    Hi all can anyone help when i go to start my 1995 A4 1.8 20v the key code light comes on and i cant start car so i have to keep taking key out and try a few times untill it goes off.The key has no fob on it can anyone help.

    I have the same problem.....

    Is there any way to ''turn off'' key code?

    same here..have to keep taking the key in and out to get it to work...i only have one key and would like to get another to see if its the transponder but i cant find anyone who can do it. the key i have dosnt have remote locking just a light.inside it says pa6 gf30...anyone have a solution for this?

    Try using you spare keys, if you still have problems then check the reader coil connections.

    The reader coil is around the ignition barrel. Take the plastic off from around the steering column and they should be easy to find (IIRC they sit at the top) There is a known issue with the wires being too short and Audi sell a modified part now. Adjusting the steering whell normally starts all the problems.

    My car A4 petrol did this occasionally,but if you turn ignition off,wait a second or 2,turn it on and wait for all the ignition lights to go off first and `THEN`start the engine it should start.Sometimes you can `beat` the system before it has had time to read the key code.try taking your time b4 starting.
