    Hello Guys,

My locking seems to have died on me. I thought it was my keyfob, so replaced the batteries, tried resyncing doesn't work. Anyways, using the key manually to open the driver side door for the time being, but non of the other doors open. I've tried the windows non of them work either..... anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I've got an independent to do a vag-com test hopefully tomorrow, do you think this will tell me what on earth is going on?Do you think this can *fix* the problem?

Anyone have any ideas how I can open the other 3 doors or my boot in the meantime? I really don't want to spend more money than I have to......really annoying!

Done a search, it seems as though it "could" be the CCM. Im not that familar with cars, can someone tell me what the thing looks like and how I can access it. If anyone has some pictures that would be great. Is it a DIY job which I can replace, i did my maf and brakelight switch recently, any possibility I could have dislodged something there to stop the windows or locks working.....

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Jalz

    Jalz,

I have the same problem my friend, i'm considering sending my central locking unit away for repairs costing roughly £100 (man on ebay with good feedback). This way you dont have to pay Audi to recode the remote central locking.

Have you resolved the issue now, did this also fix the electric windows?

    Hi Crisis,

Yeah I've sorted it now. I took mine to a vw/audi scrappy, who 'refurbished' my pump which cost 100, I could have got it done for £50 if I could have waited but was desperate as couldn't ferry the fam across.... (ebay chap looks good, I would have used him if I had known about him).

Although locks were working, windows were not, I went thtough all the fuses and found one that was blown. Replaced that, and bobs ur uncle!

Good luck (cant believe this is a common fault on a premium brand car, my old jap car didn't have any of these faults)

Excellent news i believe ebay man offers a similar service. I have a few questions, 1. did you have to disconnect your battery to stop your alarm going of once unit unplugged? 2. Can you remember what number fuse was you changed as mine all appear fuctional?

thanks for your previous reply and yes its hard to believe we have to carry out all these simple repairs, i had issues with my windows on an Mtec 328 sport as well!

Sorry, Can't remember which fuse it was, I remember it being one of the red ones though. I just literally went through all of them.....

Secondly I didn't disconnect my battery during any of this, fortunately my alarm didn't go off.

Hi guys in my case i have a 2001 a3 and after changing the battery the windows stopped working, that model dont have a fuse so after trying almost everything i found that holding the window switches in the closed position and starting the car it resets the windows.
