car is in diasbled tax class

previous owner was disabled, now i have to get all manner of forms and actually goto the flippin post office to get my tax, why cant i change it online!!? i dont mind paying nothing for car tax since i bought it in april but now i am getting the first lot of tax i am being a law obiding citizen and being a good boy.

I had a similar problem a couple of years back, the post office will tell you to go to the nearest DVLA office, I complained to the DVLA about this and they told me all you need is an application form for a new V5, available from the post office, with this form you can also tax the car, the post office won't tell you this because they are jobsworths.

You may have to explain why you have been using the car since April on Disabled tax, you are supposed to surrender the disc and pay far a new one.

all sorted, went to shrewsbury dvla in the middle of a maze of industrial units,found it eventually after i learnt my sat nav didnt have the road on or the postcode because it is a new building. the women there said the guy who sold me the car should have surrendered it. i said although riding round with disabled tax is an easy thing to do i didnt want to have the police giving me points/fines/beatings, so i said i'd have 6 months off her.
