    Hi All,

I've had to get my manual off Ebay for my car since Arnold Clark Lost it and failed to get a new one anyway...

In the manual there is no referance to the Econ button on the centre console and I was told that this keeps the Temp of the car to the outside Temp but not sure about this

Does this button mean economical and when ON the Air con is off which is what I want to happen so I save fuel and all that.

Oh it is a Golf Plus 55 Plate

Just any help as I have the button switched ON thinking the aircon is off Which is better ON or OFF???

It stops the system using the air conditioning compressor so reduces fuel consumption slightly but will also reduce the effectiveness of the climate control system and not cool you in the summer. The A/C is very good at dehumidifying the interior to speeding demisting and you should use the auto function one a week to keep the system lubricated, or what you save in fuel you will lose hundreds of times over in repair costs.

I just leave mine on all the time as I couldn't see any difference in fuel consumption and it works well in keeping the car free of condensation.
mine is a 55 plate reg. feb. 06 1.9TDI. s model. the only thing I would ask if anyone else notices is when the car is warming up and you set the temp at around 18 it seems to get awfull hot first before coming back down to temp set?
