    Hi

It does sound like it just needs regassing, this should be done every 2 years, so tThe best thing to do would be to get a service done on the aircon system. This costs in the region of £60 - £100 depending on who does the job, but if you shop around you should get it done at a reasonable price.

If you have the system serviced, they will connect it to the aircon machine, which will remove all the existing gas, if any, check the system for leaks, and then refill with the correct amount of gas. In addition you could have the pollen filter changed, and the system cleaned with an anti bacterial spray, this will kill all the nasty stuff that builds up on the system, and gives of that "funny" smell sometimes

I have a problam with my aircon. It blows out small pieces of sponge from the air con vents sometimes. it cools inside the car without no problam. but the only problam is the sponge dust coming in. Any help that i can get for this?

also can you please tell me how to clean the pollen filter.

Stuart is right you need to have it looked at.
Usually they can add a small amount of oil first the oil has a UV dye in it so leaks will show up, then the leaks can be fixed, its pointless putting gas in with out checking for leaks first.
Then it needs to be emptied and re filled with the gas and correct amount of oil, we put the oil with a dye in to our cars as then its easy to find the leaks in future.
