My sister in law to be has a 2000 1.6s Polo and it recently decided to stop. The RAC pulled up no less than 7 sensor faults. Theyt reckon the car is not worth repairing.
To my mind getting 7 faults would point to the ECU failing rather than a multitude of sensors but I am usually wrong on most things.

Has anyone any thoughts on this

highly doubt its the ECU to be honest, quite rare unless the ECU as been modified in anyway...

does it turn over or anything??

its not uncommon to get a fair few fault codes, it doesnt mean that 7 things are faulty either so dont take them too literally

drop me some symptoms and ill see if I can help ya out!

Get another code read done, clear the codes and try starting it again or drive it if it will run. Then do another code read and pay attention to what comes back. I never take much notice of the first code read, it can often be full of ghost codes that are not relevant and one sensor failure can generate three of four codes. Do you have a list of what came up?
