Hi, i've been offered an S reg 1.6 se with 65,000 on the clock but the lad has said the abs light flashes now and again. He has also said that VW has told him its just the sensor. How much will this cost to repair or is it a d.i.y job? I can also seem to remember that there was a problem with the gearbox bolts shearing off on this model or was that just a dream? (bit strange if it was because they normally involve custard and egg whisks)Thanks for any advice.

new switch will cost u under £25. I had mine done a few days ago. Not a big job. If ur confident, do it yourself. id advise gettin it diagnosed first. G/box's are a problem, just dnt red line the revs and itll be fine.

Cheers. I've had a hunt about the forums and they seem to suffer from sheared gearbox bolts quite a bit which is slightly perturbing. I'm going back to see it tommorrow so fingers crossed. Once again thanks for the reply.
