looks like you pay £40 to join and someone plants a tree and you get a sticker and can use the forum. looks like a money spinner to me as well. i drive a discovery because i like to as well as needing it living in wales. one of the arguments is 4x4s are more reliable than cars. try telling that to someone whos just bought a new rangerover.

    Landyzone
Its a new one on me I will have a look around.
    I Have used
www.difflock.com My favourite, I must say some of the members have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help each other out, they have also raised a good few quid for McMillan Nurses, also they dont care if you have a 4x4 or not, some people just come to events and hitch a ride.
Its a fantastic source of info just like here but bigger.
    www.mud-club.com Very good
www.northwest4x4.co.uk Small but growing, very active with days out in the north west especially considering its a quite new forum.
It very nearly fell at the first hurdle due to server / set up costs , but all members chipped in a couple of quid, which just showed what can be achieved by one man and a few willing friends..
    www.offroading.net Small but good
I have used others but I find these are the best, I did find some snobbery on the land rover only forums, but I was thrown out of the local Land Rover club for turning up in a Suzuki and beating several very expensive motors LOL

Re Discos, mines an old one still runs and drives fine, gives 32MPG even towing a big caravan, about 27 around town which I feel good for a 7 seater vehicle, cheap road tax as its a 1994 you can even get classic insurance.
I should sell it really as it hardly gets used now we have sold the caravan.
But I do love it and its not worth much

My Vitaras been the best fun £300 can buy, show me another convertable for £300, it didnt matter when the kids painted it, just been through Blackpool lights in it

I do feel its a good idea, but I also feel some one is making a few quid from it, for the fee you could buy a fair few trees and plant them your self.
But thats me a man with short arms and deep pockets.

I was interested to see if anyone had joined landyzone as i did a while back. I dont go on now due to the foul language and verbal abuse i found there. the moderators from vwaudi wouldnt last 5 minutes on there!!!
I too have an early <94> disco tdi. brilliant cars. shes used mainly as a workhorse/recovery/dogs transporter, so has a bad time, and my drives on the beach and through the surf doesnt help to prevent her rusting.
