Rear parking sensors broken?

Need to do something though because the PDC works fine most of the time which means I rely on it. I reverse park like a woman too...............oops probably shouldn't say that.

Once already I have hit a small sapling tree because it was one of those times the system didn't bleep at all. Fortunately only mild scratching which buffed out!

I had the rear bumper repainted shortly after buying the car as the previous owner had hit a few things, now I know why!! I don't really want to ahve to pay out for that again obviously.
