    Hi chaps,

Hang on, are there even any female members with an A4 B8 here? I've seen a few women driving around in them, but I bet they don't appreciate what they've got!

    Anyway, back on topic..

I've been informed that there's a new version of the mapping and interface coming out shortly (I think this has been discussed somewhere here). Is anyone here going to upgrade the software to benefit from the new features?

My wife has stolen mine (Avant). Apparently she needs it, and the golf that has been fine for the past year suddenly isnt suitable anymore.

When i was ordering she said she didn't like leather seats, we don't need sat nav as we have a tom tom, and doest see the need for a b&o stereo...
Well I do like leather seats, I do want sat nav and i do want see the need for a stereo upgrade.

So I have all the toys i wanted only they are not appreciated by the wife..
    Grrrr!!!!
I would beat her if we didn't have a new born.

    Anyway, back on topic..
yes.. I love an upgrade for anything.. How do i do it? What's the new features?

Heh, luckily I've not got anywhere near tying the not yet, so I can't sympathise

To be honest, knowing Audi, it'll be a paid upgrade at the dealer. No idea what new features either, I know there's some kind of funky 3d mapping on the GPS, but that's almost about all I know.

I'll have a search around, does anyone else know anything about this? It's coming out on the new A6's I believe...

    Thanks,

I pretended that I was happy with my other half using the car but cunningly did not show her how the auto handbrake works!!!!

After a couple of trips out stealing my car she now think's it's stupid and so is back in her's which is fine by me!!!! (we do have a Golf and a BoxsterS so it's not exactly hard times for her!!!)

......... I would be interested in the sat nav upgrade depending on what it is??? If it's just a disc for the maps then I'll pass as I did it on my last Audi and it cost £160 and made no difference!!

Ah yes, I head about this.. The new Q5 will have Nvidia graphics processors.
I dont know if the current MMI High's can support the advanced 3d mapping as they wont have the new GPU

Q5 and new A6 has the new Graphics thing. It requires a fancy graphic chip to actually display the 3D images so I doubt very much it will be a software only upgrade on the current B8. So what Jop said.

As for me, the Mrs is happy with her 3 door A3 1.9Tdi and shes not insured on mine anyway! Lease company will insure her but I cant be bothered to send them her driving license details.
