Wanted to fit a new tail pipe to my bora, ended up buying a peco back box. There are two pipes which come out of the bora silencer so i cut them both down and fitted the back box to one of the pipes, attached it all to the car nice and secure. Didnt sound amazing as most of the gas was going out the other pipe, so planned to close that hole up later to divert all the gas though the other one into the back box giving it a nice vroom vroom noise.

...anyway just went out for a drive and a few miles in and the epc light and the exhuast sensor light came on??? Is this due to me messing with the exhaust???

What should i do? Just rip off the back box and put on a plain trim?

Have you got any pictures of what you have replaced?

It is most probably to do with putting the new exhaust on, but should be solvable

So you've added another silencer to the car? surely you'd take the back box that was on it off and replace with what you have in your picture above?

Well it said to leave the main silencer on as it was just a resonating (spelt wrongs probs) exhaust.

So maybe I have to take off the rear silencer? Not to keen on doing this as the rear silencer is perfectly fine, and if it goes wrong and the warning signs come up again il be screwed.

also cold this have anything to do with me disconecting the battery while i changed the exhaust? Its done this EPC problem before when they changed battery at the dealer?

Any info on whats wrong will be great!

    Cheers

The best way to find out what has caused the light to come on is to get it scanned with vagcom or similar, and see what fault codes it throws up.

Depending where you are you could ask a forum member.

I have the equipment but whether I'm nearby is different.

Try the VAG-COM User Locations thread where you may find someone in your area.
