golf mk5 roof bars

Hi hope somebody can help, i have purchased a genuine set of roof bars
on ebay, only problem is they have come with no instructions, i didn't think this would be a problem but now realise it will, i have managed to fit the front one without a problem as these locate into holes under the roof lip but the rear ones are a different story, where they fit the shallow gutter they seem to close to the front bar, but if i move them further back they don't fit the gutter help????????????????????????????????????

you are quite correct. You have the front one correct. And yes, once the back one is on, it does look too close. I have instructions. In my opinion, the bars when mounted are too close and yes it does look odd. But it is correct.
