My wife mentioned that the bulb warning light had come on the other day, so I checked the car over and found that the right hand half of the offside tail light had stopped working. I understand that the tail lights are actually LEDs and not bulbs.

Thinking it would simply be a case of replacing the bulbs/LEDs, I checked the manual and found that the warning lamp only comes on if all LEDs in the cluster (I'm guessing that the tail light is two clusters) have failed.

Popped to Halfords to see if I could pick up spare LEDs but they advised that I'll have to go to the dealer to get the unit replaced! The car is only 18 months old so still under warranty. Is something like this likely to be a warranty repair? If not, is it something I should be able to replace myself easily enough?
