    alright peeps,

me clutch is on the way out on my 2000 1.8T - its currently on a remap with 199 BHP - is it worth me buying a uprated clutch or stick with a replacement standard one ? if so which is the uprated one to go for and where to buy from and what should i be paying !

    cheers

I'd stick with a std one if you're not going for more than the remap.

A mate's 260bhp passat is still fine with the std clutch. Mine's remapped with a few other changes and is fine too.

Although an uprated clutch will grip better, you'll lose some of the smoothness of the change plus they tend not to last anything like as long as the OEM ones.

Get a good quality std one, and change the flywheel too as a work clutch can kill them very easily.

When you say it's on the way out what exactly is wrong? Sometimes they just need bleeding as the hydraulic clutch tends to get overlooked when changing fluid and bleeding the old crap through.....
