    Hi All,

This is my first forum entry ever (shocking). I need advice on my Coupe, the speedo has died and I want to know if it is something I can fix myself or is it an electronic speedo?

    Thanks

    Claire

Welcome aboard, and thanks for choosing us to pop your forum cherry!

Post another post (your second ever?) in the relevant Audi section for some more views. Pick a catchy title - "Dead Audi Speedo" and watch the replies roll in.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

Thanks for your advice, I am lead to believe from my (trusty) local mechanic that I need a speedo sensor to sort out my speedo problems. I am searching the internet for parts as we speak, I hope to find one soon as I am having to drive a hideous purple Honda which takes about 0 to an hour to reach sixty....

Try telling that to my friendly neighbourhood bobby when they are asking me if I know how fast I was driving!

The feed to the speedo is electronic, take the speedo out and clean all the contacts. The clocks are modular and they are linked by little plugs. Unplug and re-plug these to re-establish a contact.
It often happens and it is an easy cheap fix. Labour only, you can do it yourself.
