    Hi all,

I have a Seat Leon 1.6 16v. The problem is sometimes when i try to start my car it doesnt always start. Sometimes its fine for a few days but other times i could be sat there turning it over for 20 mins until it kicks in.

Any ideas what this can be? I here it could be my key. when i shake my key i can here somethin rattling about in there. Could it be this?

Also i hear it could be fuel related like a fuel switch or somethin?

anyone else have or had this problem??

Get it scanned for fault codes....

you could go searching around replacing various componants before you actually rectify the problem.

A fault code read should cost around £35 form a decent auto electrician. Once you have the codes, post them on here and we'll try to identify the source of teh faults.

    Good Luck

its a 52plate. But i have now changed it. i went to German french swedish and they printed a diagram out for me. Anyway i changed the sensor and the car has now started for me but im still not confident this has sorted the problem as it still sounds lazy when it kicks in so im sure its only a matter of time before it plays up again.

Sounds like my wife's 2001 1.8. Starter is fine but only just catches. Sometimes doesn't start.
