I am looking into changing drivers seat base cushion as the side support has lost its shape.
    Any tips on this?
    Is it easy to do?
    Any issues with Airbags?

    Thanks

If you remove the seat, which you will have to do to work on the base, the airbag light will need resetting, there is a chance if you disconnect the car battery prior to diconnecting the seat and reconnect after refitting the seat that the system won't know you have disturbed the system. the cover is quite fiddly to remove and best left to someone with a bit of trim experience, it has a sponge base too so chances are the sponge has crumbled or split, not easy to repair, I do have a spare passenger seat base if its any good to you?

How old is the spare base you have?
Is it inter-changeable with the driver side?
How much do you want for it?
What condition is it in, out of 10....?

Hi! I agree with Gavent quattro about the airbag light, you will have to remove the earth terminal on the battery before you unplug the connection under the seat, Im 90% sure that the seats are not intercahngerble but could be wrong, tis fairly tricky but can be done. (DIY)
    Good luck!

I don't mind the "tricky" but every time i disconnect the battery the car idles rough for about a week or so.

(I thought the Airbag module is only activated with the ignition key going to on. ?????)

I have had a feel before and although it feels the same base it often turns out to be different. Audi would not tell me the part numbers over the phone.
Thanks for all the info so far.

it is different to the drivers side, the adjusting arms are the wrong way round for a start, but I thought you could use the sponge and practice getting the cover off before you attempt yours, its out of a 1997 car so chances are the covers wrong for yours anyway, you can have it if you want it, its no good to me.
